helloooo my dear friends!

I hope you guys had as an enjoyable time as I had during the bobby pin practice sessions! Even though I'm a tad disappointed that we would not be able to carry out our workshops in the end, I'm sure we all have gained so much for the whole period of learning. Not just the new skills learnt alone, but also friendships that have been deepened through helping each other with making the bobby pins and sharing our creativity with everyone. :D All the laughter and fun that we have experienced through learning festival is something that I will definitely treasure.

I hope you guys will continue making bobby pins in your own time even though we don't have anymore practice sessions :] And I'm sure that we will always continue to have more times for us to bond in this way, through service learning and projects etc.

Hey yooooo a04! :D

I think most of us feel the same way about this whole 'bobby pins' issue. We did not start off well as a class due to this, but amazingly, God has other plans for us! It will be such a lie to say that we did not bond further through learning how to make bobby pins together. Many of us scorned the idea initially but little did we imagine how much fun we are going to have together! Honestly, it is indeed very heartwarming to see everyone put in a lot of effort during the practice sessions just so that we can make at least a decent bobby pin based on what we learnt.

Personally, I remember not favouring the idea much as I found that the other ideas by my other classmates are more interesting and fun. I did not have much faith in the whole thing but I am not ashamed to admit that I was wrong. Friends and peers have shown much interest in our bobby pins and many commented that they are nice and cute!

I honestly feel disappointed when I found out that the Learning Festival will be postponed or even worse, cancelled. It feels as though our efforts had all gone down the drain. However, as cliche as it may sound, it is indeed a blessing in disguise. This whole thing definitely bonded us further and sparked our interest in bobby pins! (:

To start off, making beaded bobby pins have never crossed my mind at all. However, when Brenda suggested the activity of learning to make them, I did not know it could actually be quite fun! Before I tried making them, they sounded so easy to be done, just some beads, shape the wires accordingly and voila, a beaded bobby pin is created! As we went on with our practices, it was actually tough to really come up with a nice and proper design for the pins. I already had problems at the start, especially on how to place the beads properly and how to neatly end it off.

As time went by, with more help from our guru(BRENDA, haha!) and other classmates, I finally started to get the hang of it and my bobby pins’ design improved more each time. It was an accomplishment ok! I felt contented with the beaded bobby pins I’ve made and sometimes, had the fun of wearing them with other classmates and taking pictures! A little of showoff of our own creations won’t hurtJ.

Anyways, well done 09A04 for our endurance in learning to make the bobby pins! It felt so nice to see that we had done around 60 bobby pins altogether as a class and they were awesome! However, we hope that they will not go to waste now that the learning fiesta is cancelled. I hope we could still gain profits by selling them or something, then maybe we could donate to charity. See, we’re doing a good cause for people! Furthermore, I think we will feel very happy and as if there is a sense of achievement in us when we see people using our bobby pins. All in all, the process of learning this together was very entertaining and true enough, we have gained a new skill.

Learning how to make bobby pins was definitely fun and something new! I love every session although my fingers hurt a little haha. It’s not something ordinary that I would do every day, so it was good experience for me! At first I was not supportive of it and was thinking make bobby pins for what?!! But after learning, especially the beautiful flower design, I love it! Although I wouldn’t pin it on my head, but hey I think some people actually will! I’m kind of sad that learning fest is cancelled. We spent so much time and effort and now it’s cancelled thanks to H1N1 ): Nevertheless, the time we spent together as a class trying to figure out how to twist the wire and such and the new skill learnt will not be forgotten! (:

I must say that I did enjoy every bobby pins making sessions even though initially I was not very enthusiastic about it. Perhaps that is because I am not a girl who enjoys wearing such accessories! However, now I like to make those beaded bobby pins [ not that I like to wear them now ] especially when we do it as a class. :D

There has been a lot of fun during the sessions of learning how to make beaded bobby pins, especially when we think of making pretty pins. It has certainly been a great time for class bonding too, with everyone helping each other, especially BRENDA! She is the one who truely knows how to make beaded bobby pins and it is really nice of her to be so patient with the rest of us who know nothing about it!

It is really quite a pity that the entire Learning Festival is cancelled, if not this skill can be passed on to more people. :/ Still, I hope to say that I have indeed learnt a new skill today!!!!!!!

Hello 09A04!

Personally, I feel that this learning journey experience has been a great one! Truthfully, at first, I was not interested in learning how to make beaded bobby pins. However, after the first session, I'm starting to like making beaded bobby pins! Even though the learning process was quite difficult (my point of view), but I think now I can make decent beaded bobby pins! It's such a pity that Learning Festival was cancelled, thanks to the H1N1 pandemic. Oh well! I guess it was not meant to be! (Haha!) Hopefully, we can come up with an idea to sell the beaded bobby pins that we have painstakingly made just for the Learning Fest! & I also think that, the sessions that we have together have unleashed many potential among us! (Right Right?)

HELLO! Welcome to the freakshow :D

During this period of time, i'm sure we all had fun learning how to make beaded bobby pins together. I enjoyed this journey a lot, more than i've expected. I wasn't expecting so much but it is until after every bobby pin session, when we see the PRETTY pins that we've made, that made us go WOW, feeling satisifed. Every session of learning can be seen as a bonding session for the class too. I can say that its during this period of time, where we come together to do some crafts and to maybe crack some jokes, laugh around and interact with each other. Although 09A04 is small but we are bonded yea! I was actually looking forward to Learning Festival, seems like an exciting learning carnival to me (actually i was looking forward to learn how to make ice-cream) but the "enormous" FLU crashed all our hopes :( But hey, we've learned a new skill, MAKING BEADED BOBBY PINS! Not everyone can make handicrafts but WE CAN! :D All the exciting designs that we came up with, like dragonfly, butterfly...etc, made the whole learning journey even more incredible! :D

Hi all good beings of mankind. Raihan the kakak is here (hehehehe).

It is a pity that Learning Fest had to be cancelled because I was super looking forward to it and I wanted to see how others would have responded to the best(est) beautiful beaded bobby-pins. The other classes' projects looked interesting too so I was quite excited for Friday the 10th (+ it was supposed to be an off day for everyone :() The flu pandemic is really getting on everyone's nerves and destroying everything but we should be thankful it hasn't destroyed any lives in Singapore.

The whole journey was indeed a great learning experience because not only did we pick up a new skill in beading bobby pins( which I initially thought I will never be able to do), we also learnt about teamwork and co-operation that definitely helped the CG to be closer. It also tested patience because not until the last few practices, I had had trouble piecing everything together and didn't manage to make the bobby pins look inviting and pretty and things like that haha. But with perfect practice comes perfection! Mine's not perfect but they have come a long way yay!

reflection on learning ~~festival~~ practices........
its quite sad that the festival itself had been cancelled
after all our hardwork. h1n1 is really disrupting everything!

however the practices were awesome,
we had lotsa fun making the beaded bobby pins!
we're getting really good at it and enjoying it too,
though some of us werent interested in bobby pins at first.

well the left over bobby pins, perhaps we can
sell them off and store the money in our class fund?
haha!

HELLO INTERNET!

Okay, I have to admit it has been a joyful experience learning how to make the bobby pins! It unleashes the (non-existence) creativity side of me. Though at first I refuse to learn it, but over time I managed to sort of master the art of bobby pins, and I have to say I'm quite an expert now(HAHAHAHAHA ok i was just lying).

I think the most fun part is actually bonding with my classmates. We laughed, joked, and talked(I cannot think of anymore adjectives so I can't go on and on sorry...) while making the pins and that "bond" all of us together. though i always groaned and felt pissed when they asked all of us to stay back to practice making the bobby pins.

I hope it's an apt quote to describe how we worked as a team.

I hope we can do more of such things in the future!
Because I said so.

I must say that the through this wonderful learning experince, I have discovered another one of my hidden talents. Handycraft! I used to hate doing handycrafts so much. However, after learning this new skill from our teacher, Brenda, I'm starting to love handycraft even more. Everytime when I go out and see beads, I'll straightaway think of the beaded bobby pins.

From someone who knows nuts about making beaded bobby pins, I can now make basic designs and slightly more complicated design with the bobby pins and beads. As usual, there would still be problems when doing something. My problem is, due to my sweaty palms, my wire will always decolourise. Hence this causes my beaded bobbypins to be out of colour D:

So sad! Learning Fest is cancelled! Due to the Swine Flu! Noooooo! Now I can't show off the skills that I've learnt to the other school community D:

But all in all, I enjoyed the whole Learning Fest learning experience!

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS! (:

First and foremost i want to congratulate the class, the awesom-est 09A04 for their never ending perserverence to learn how to make the beaded booby pins. and i must say, all of us are getting better with more and more practices. great job everyone! of course, without the help from our guru (Brenda) all of us will definitely face the ultimate failure as none of us had any background of making beaded bobby pins.

Not only do our skills get better,through the practices that we had, we discovered some hidden talents in the class. For example, Izzati can make beautiful butterfly decorated bobby pins as well as Vera who can make cute little designs with her pins. Even Rasul makes pretty bobby pins! For myself, although i may not be the best beaded bobby pin maker in the class, I've at least learnt a new skill. From knowing nothing at all on how to design bobby pins, now I managed to make a decent one by myself (:

So 09A04, let's make MORE bobby pins to share the love with everyone!

Oh, and ive named one of my bobby pins BOB. BOB the beaded bobby pin :D

we had our practice right after econs makeup tutorial hence we deicided to simply have our practice in the classroom.

the lighting was definately much better than that of the area outside the AVA room.

and although the daisy may require a little bit more work than the basic one [LIKE DUH!], we still managed to complete them nicely and happily and not cross-eyed. =D

Hello! So, the other week, we had our 3rd session!This time, instead, we used the new wires which Brenda bought. It was in fact better because it was easier to bend and our fingers do not hurt so much. haha.

Hi all!!!
For those who have been waiting for our updates, we're very sorry.
Due to some unforseen circumstances and busy schedules, we couldn't update the blog.
And so, 09A04 is already at their second training for the Learning Fest!
I must say, we're progressing very fast.
It's only the second lesson and the whole class can make complicating designs already.
It's a very good progress as we're all newbie in this thing, and we already know how to make complicating designs on the second practice session.

Hi all~

Our First Learning Fest training was on 17th March.
Well done 09A04!
We managed to learnt the basics of making the bobby pins.
As a class everyone knows nothing about Bobby Pins making before the first session.
And now I think that all of us are getting the hang of,
And some of us are starting to love this USEFUL Hanycraft!
We'll be wearing the specially custom-made Bobby Pins on Monday.
So look out for the 09A04 Gang with our new hair accessories on the first day of school!
